Trust in The Lord with All Your Heart

During this pandemic, people are worried and unsure of their own lives. Many people lost their lives, lost their family member, lost their job. There is a chaos. We cannot do something physically. But all that we can do is to trust God with all our hearts.

I am currently living in Barcelona Spain. I work as Reception Manager in a Hotel. Spain is still in Lockdown because of Covid-19 pandemic.

Last April 18,2020, my boss told me that he wanted to talk to me so I should call him before I leave. So then, I was thinking what should it be about? But I have a lot of thoughts in my mind by that time.

So when we talked, he told me that he is planning to close the hotel untill the end of 2020. He is not planning to take a risk specially for his workers and because he is old as well. It is hard for him to get any virus and get sick. So he told me that he had to finish my contract and I can only work until the end of the month.

After that, I just cleaned my things and prepare to leave the work. I was not nervous or something. I was relaxed and told to myself, ¨it is ok, for sure God has bigger plans for me. I know He will provide all my needs. I know He is a sovereign God¨.

Then I finished work and get my bag and jacket. That was less than 3 minutes when he left then my boss went back and told me to forget what we talked about. Because there was a news that it is not possible to finish anyone´s contract during this pandemic until 6 months.

By that moment, I realized and God told me. When we say ¨we don´t worry and we trust God¨, speaking about it is not enough. We should say it, think about it and feel it. Because sometimes we say that we won´t worry but we think a lot on what we can do. Because of that ¨unsureness¨ that we have inside, it burden God´s work in us.

So next time, when we say we trust God, we should trust Him wholeheartedly. Trust Him with our mind and emotions as well.

Thanks be to God because He is a faithful God. He knows all His promises to us and He is always there for us.

More testimonies here.

Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

30-Day Blog Challenge: My Proudest Moment

In life, there are a lot of things that we really wanted but it is just so hard and complicated. We wake up confused, we did not do what happened and why we are in the ¨wrong situation¨.

The same thing with me. I can say that before, I was really ambicious person. I had a lot of plans with my life and untill what time or period should I have achieved them. I always have Plan A and Plan B or maybe until Plan E. That´s how sure I was with my own life.

But things happen and change. Maybe if until now, I have not had a relationship with the Lord, I would say that life is so unfair. People who are easy going, achieve whatever they want in their life in just a second. Unlike to those who strive to death to achieve their dreams. But no, that is too selfish for me to think about. We all have our own stories to tell. And I believe, that God has the biggest plans for us, in His own perfect time.

For me, I have 2 proudest moments in my life. The first one is when I decided to not finish my studies in Philippines and to come back in Spain to have a proper job so that my mom can have her breast cancer treatment. Let us say that it was a battle between my mom´s life and my own dreams. It was hard by that time because I was doing excellent with my studies. I had a lot of dreams for myself. But that moment, I want to be selfless, the same way my mom did all through these years.

And the second proudest moment that I have is the moment I have decided to stay in the presence of the Lord. That is during the times that I struggled a lot. That is when I question my own existence and when I wanted to end everything. But I am proud, because whenever that happens, at the end of the day I still choose to stay in His presence and that is Faith. Having hope and trust wholeheartedly, surrender my situation to God and claim His promises.

As human, we have a lot of questions to ourselves. But knowing the promises of the Lord and trusting His own timing, make every struggle worthy. I cannot imagine my life without Jesus. And I pray a lot, that one day I can touch people´s heart and lead them to God. That could be my third proudest moment.

¨For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.¨

30-Day Blog Challenge: My Dream Job

When  I was younger, I remember of having a lot of dream jobs. It like, every year I have a new one. Maybe that is because I was too young and I was descovering myself as well.

I was at Grade II back then when I started to have my own dreams. I really wanted to be a professional teacher because I remember that my mom´s dream was to be a teacher. But back then, life was taugh and she was not able to achieve her dream. Of course, as a child, I wanted to make her happy and proud.

Just like any other little girl, I was so girly. My family was even planning for me to join Little Miss Philippines in Eat Bulaga, a TV Show in the Philippines. But Question and Answer was really my weakness because I did not leason to them and push my thoughts on the matter. But what I really wanted to do was modelling, cat walk and to project in front of people and camera.

When I was in Grade IV, I changed a lot. From being a proffesional teacher to a model. By then, what I wanted was to earn a lot of money. Yes money, that was my reference on what job I would like to do. So I decided to be an accountant. I wanted to work in a bank because that is wher most of the money are. As of writing right now, I am lauging at myself because of these reasons. And I thought they will pay you higher because they have a lot of money.

But when I was in Grade VI, I finally had this dream that I hold until college. To be a Flight Attendant. I really wanted to have a ¨good looking¨ job. Where you have to work, to be pretty and to project. I wanted to travel the world as well. After first year high school, I experience riding an airplane. Actually, riding any form of transportation is my weakness because I got dizzy. But that did not happen when I am riding an airplane.

To be honest, I was not able to finish my studies. But the most amazing part is, God has the best plans for me. Now, I experience all those dreams that I had since I was a kid. From a teacher, to a model, to a flight attendant.

Since High School, I experience having a photoshoots with different photographers. Even until now, I receive some offers. Even they will not pay me, the experience I have with them is so priceless. I am able to project in front of the camera just like my dream.

Now, I am working as a Reception Manager in a Hotel here in Barcelona. I have to experience a lot of things. Whenever we have new employees, I have to teach them everything. And as a recepcion manager, it is also my job to do accounting.

I am also blessed to travel from time to time. From Asia to Europe.

So wherever you are right now. Trust the plans of the Lord for you. You may be in a spot or place where you never thought of before, but trust me, every day you will know and learn why God put you on that situation.

We are Spiritual Frontliners

In this time of pandemic, frontliners are being our hero. From street sweepers, cashiers, pharmacists, police men, soldiers, nurses, radiographers, doctors and many more professions. But aside from that, there is this called ¨Spiritual Frontliners¨, and that is us.

As christians, we do believe that this pandemic is from evil as stated in these verses:

The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.”

So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.

Job 2:6-7

Even while the boy was coming, the demon threw him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the impure spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father.
Luke 9:42

Now, we already know who is our enemy and that is the ¨bad spirit¨. First, it is important to know who or what is our enemy so that we know how we can fight and defeat it. It is against bad spirit so it needs spiritual warfare. It is imposible for a soccer player to compete with a swimmer.

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Luke 10:19

By this, it is already confirmed and we know that through His power we can defeat this enemy. He already provided everything that we need, even the armor of God. And what are those?

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Ephesians 6:11-18

By now, we already know who is our enemy and we already have the confirmation that God already gave us the power to defeat the enemy. Aside from that, we already have the armor of God. Let´s ask ourselves, ¨Am I wearing the armor of God?¨, ¨Am I ready to go to the battle as army of God'?¨

So us, being christians, we also need to do our duty as servants of God to battle this pandemic. We always say, we are the army of God.  So now, let´s connect the duties of frontliners and us, spiritual frontliners.

What Are The Duties of Frontliners

1. To Heal People

That is one of the responsibilities of a frontliner and so is ours as children of God. There are thousands of cases from this pandemic, but God said,

And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.
James 5:15

Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
 Matthew 10:1

You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
John 14:14

As you can see, till now scientists, chemists haven´t found a medicine against this pandemic. There are news telling that they are already testing something to animals, or medicines from other countries that are promising, and many more news.

It´s been thousands of year debating if God is true based in Science. But look at now, God is making His own way to prove Himself. God is the only thing that is left. Even money, houses, cars, job position, they are meaningless at this moment. And this moment, this crisis proves His name. Because our God in the best doctor, He is our Jehovah Rapha. Let God use us. Let´s accept our duties and let´s reach out to people.

2. To Encourage One Another

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
I Thessalonian 5:11

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
Hebrews 3:13

During this quarantine, we cannot go out. And the only way we can know what´s happening with others is through social media. But everyday, we wake up with tons of negative news. But the question is, ¨Have we ever done something about it?¨.  Why don´t we try to encourage others by sharing the word of God, christian songs, or even preaches.

Sometimes we struggle, we feel down, we have a lot of questions in our heads. Then we open facebook, we scroll down as usual then surprisingly, we see and read this verse ¨...¨. And we tell ourselves and to God, ¨Thank you God, thank you for making way and for making me feel that You are there and You will never leave me.¨

And that can be the same scenario for other people. Specially these days, just like to us, it is also a confirmation for others that God is the only thing left and the only one who we they can trust. It is making them to realize it, finally. The same bible verse that you read, is the same bible verse that God uses for confirmation to others. Isn´t amazing?

We also have group chats where people will keep on chatting because they have a lot of free time now. Why don´t we try to give encouragement to them? Because for sure, there is one person who´s struggling and just reading all your conversation. Or send them personal messages, asking how they are and ask how can you pray for them.

A simple, ¨How can I pray for you?¨, can encourage people and think that God is using us to help them.

There are tons of way to talk and to give encouragement. Social Media may have tons of dissadvantages but as long as we use it to share the word of God, maximize it, we are doing good.

3. To Provide the Needs

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Acts 20:35

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.
Proverbs 19:17

It is important to practice giving, no matter what the situation it. It does not matter if you are poor, rich or how big or small you are giving. The important thing is you give from your heart.

Right now, there are a lot of organizations asking for financial assistance specially in the Philippines where most of people are poor. And even here in Spain. Through facebook you can directly donate in WHO, and through text you can donate in UNICEF. And even through our churches.

During this crisis, some of us are bothered what will happen after a week. Will we still be okay and still have resources? In this situation, can we be selfless and donate just a little bit?

We do not need to worry when we give, because we will be the way of blessings from God. We do not need to worry what are we going to eat, because God will provide. He is the same God who fed thousands of people in Israel.

4. To Ensure Their Protection

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.
Acts 20:28

Because of lack of financial, lack of doctors, facilities, medicines. People are afraid. They feel unsecured about the situation we are in. There are a lot of people who are experiencing anxiety. Asking tons of questions even if it is too far from the present. What will they eat, what will happen to their family, and a lot more questions.

But us, we know that God is in control. So it is important to give them assurance that this too will pass. Because we are not the only one who needs Psalm 91, they all need too. (Please open your bible and read Psalm 91, it is too long so I cannot put it here)

And that ensurance of protection should be seen to us. We should show the world that we are fearless, and they should not fear too as long as they are with God. We should express and explain this things to them.

5. To Lead Others

Lead me, LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies— make your way straight before me.
Psalm 5:8

He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
Psalm 23:3

During this quarantine, many are not following simple rules. Many are too afraid of what will happen , so they are angry to the government and to the system. And we see that in social media. But what should we do? Should fight and debate for what we know is right? No, we should stand on our faith. We should spread the word of God and lead them to God. We should lead them to God so that they will know what is true and what is right thing to do. Us, we know how we should live and handle the situation, and they also deserve to know about it.

So now, I´d like us to ask ourselves, ¨Have we ever pray for healing of others?¨, ¨Have we ever encourage them?¨, ¨Have we ever give supports to them?¨, ¨Have we ever ensured their protection?¨, ¨Have we ever reached out to people?¨.

Because aside from our church, we also have responsibilies to people who haven´t had relationship with the Lord.

I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish.
Romans 1:14

Sometimes, we do our parts to the people of the church, but how about those people who haven´t had relastionship with the Lord? For me, it is the perfect time to evangelize people. As Pastora Joy said, ¨In this moment, people are now realizing the most important thing in life. It is not the money, the material things, their job position, or status in life. The most important thing is God¨. And people are now realizing that, we just need to do our responsibilities and be the way for the confirmation.

Sometimes, we forget that this pandemic needs an ispiritual warfare and we are Spiritual frontliners. We always say that we are happy that we have a lot of time to stay with our families, but at the same time let´s not forget our duties as spiritual frontliners. Let´s not forget about our duties as children of God , to share the good news (John 3:16) and of course, Romans 1:14, that we have the duty to teach the word of God to all the people.

Let´s not worry how we are going to reach out to people because God is the same God during the time of Moises. He is the same God that will provide everyhing that we need to reach out to people. He will give us knowledge, wisdom and strength through this battle.

Accept this duty and let God make our lives as living testimonies. Let our life be a reflection of Jesus´life.

And no matter how much we refuse our duty, God will place us where He wants us to be just like how He did with Moises, Jonas, Paul, and many more desciples in the bible.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

5. As well in college, I studied in two Universities. It was hard of course, but I had no choice to move from a private University to a public one.

30-Day Blog Challenge: Bible Verse You Live By

I remember when I was in studying, every school year you have to write your motto. ¨Time is Gold¨ is indeed one of the most famous motto. And even in every beauty pagent, mottos are one of the most well thought of every contestants.

I never thought how important it was back then. I did not think how much it could help a person. If you do not live by it, then it is useless. And I never saw people reflecting on it.

But as time goes by, specially when I became a Christian. I started holding unto this one bible verse. Yes, a bible verse. Because I believe, the summary of all mottos in life is a bible verse. And it is indeed more reasonable to hold unto God´s words than just a phrase created by human.

¨33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.¨
- Matthew 6:33

A person without God is useless. I met a lot of successful persons in life, but they still say that they are not happy. No matter how rich and successful they are, there is always something that lacks.

Others are working so hard but they never achieve what they trully want. Even they do everything they know, they feel like it is not enough.

And yes, I experience those things as well. No matter how hard I try, I never achieved what I wanted. No matter what I have, materially, I was never happy and satisfied.

Then one day, when I was reading my bible, I read this bible verse. And it hits me. Started from that day, I was focused of God. I kept praising Him through singing and dancing, I kept reading His words because I really wanna know God, his Kingdom and His righteousness, I kept on praying.

I surrendered everything to Him. God is my Hope, God is my happines, God is my everything. I did not received what I wanted, but I received what God wanted for me. He taught he how to be satisfied and greatful. He taught me how important life is and how should I live so I can make Him happy.

Life without God is meaningless. So make sure, live your life with God. He is our provider so do not worry. He will give you everything you need and He has the best plans for you.

May God bless you and your family!

30-Day Blog Challenge: Story Behind My Blog Name

To all those people who have been supporting me with my blog, they know that my first blog was named ¨Dreams on Fleek¨. It was a random name back then. It was a blog about travel, accommodation and food. Then after a year, I decided to finally make a seperate blog about Beauty. It was a dream come true because it was really my passion, make ups. It feels good every time I share my knowledge and tips to my readers.

But sad thing came up when I lost the monetization of those blogs last year. I felt so sad and decided to stop blogging. I felt so exhausted as well because I had to write with different blogs. And not just writing, but making a way so it can have traffic. Even I was earning good from those blogs, I felt tired and stopped for awhile.

Then finally, I got motivated again and decided to make one blog for different topics like travel, accomodation, restaurants, beauty, faith, etc.. It is basically a compilation of everything that I used to write.

I also decided to use my real name because this blog, finally, is about myself and things that I like. By this, I can express more about myself that I was not able to do with my previous blogs because the genre of my previous blogs were so espicific. Unlike on this blog, it is all about myself and I can write what ever I want.

In reading the name of my blog, my readers can easily think that this blog is about the writer itself, me. And in making a blog, it is also a good point that you have an infinite number of topics that you can write. By this, it gives you reasons to write more and be more expressive in everything that you write.

Blog name is so important because it is a summary of all the articles that you wrote and will write. It is a welcome name for your readers and one way to introduce your blog. So better to think good about it. Take your time in deciding your blog name.

During this quarantine, it makes us realize to have an emergency fund next time. As well, it makes us think about things we can do to earn money. People will eventually search about it online. So readers, you can start your blog now and start earning! Let´s be all productive.
