Our Homemade Korean Dishes

These years are the years when korean dishes are getting more attention from different countries. Because of K-Drama and K-Pop, korean dishes are getting known in different countries around the world. Everyone are excited to try these dishes and some of them are already obsessed with it.

But because of Covid-19, we miss these dishes a lot. We cannot go to our favorite korean restuarants. So making your own korean dishes at home is a choice now. Actually, it is easier than we thought. I suggest you to go to any asian store around you and by the necessities.

Yesterday, I met my friends and luckily, one of my friends is fan of making Army´s Stew. I also had experienced making a Samgyupsal. So we made the two dishes without having to spend to much nor have to go to a restaurant, and you can make yours too!

Budae Jjigae or Army´ Stew

In making your Army´ Stew, some ingredients are must such as samjang paste, noodles. But other ingredients are up to your preferences. Just like us, we added beef to make it tastier. We also added crab meat, sausages, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tofu, and most specially cheese which we liked the most. You can add your favorite ingredients or maybe just the ingredients that you have at home.

First, just put all the ingredients in a sauce pan. Arange them per ingredients, make sure to make it look appetizing. Remember to put the noodles in the middle; If you are making for 3 persons or more, you can just put 1 noodle in the middle, the other 2 cook them seperately and put them when you are done cooking your Army´ Stew.

Secondly, put some water and turn on the stove. The amount of water should be on the same level of the ingredients. Wait untill it boils. Take note that you don´t need to mix it. The samjang paste will go all over the stew. You can add some cheese on top.

Samgyupsal or Korean BBQ

This dish is what I liked the most making in my house. It is easy and gives you a korean dish taste whenever you want. You can just fry the meat and put it in a plate after. It is not necessarily to have a bbq machine just the in restaurants.

You can also put the other ingredients in seperate plates; lettuce, kimchi and peanut paste. I like using Peanut Flavoured Sauce from Lee Kum Kee.

For dessert, we bought a ready made Mochi. My friend, Armee, also prepared Red Velvet Cake with Strawberres for our other two friends´ late birthday celebration. And of course, magnum ice cream that we forgot to eat.

Because of some circumstances, we were not able to celebrate Mary Rose and May´s birthday on time. But just like the saying say, ¨It is better late than never¨. So, Happy Birthday to these two young ladies. God bless you both!

We also took these friendly shots together which reminded us of our high school life. Remember when these poses were too famous back then? But yes, these poses will never get old and it is never to late to take shots like this with your friends.

By the way, Army´s room is indeed instagrammable. See those lights and instax photos? It made us feel the want to put some like these in our room.

No matter our situation is, it will never stop us to have time with our friends and even have our favorite korean dishes.  Don´t let any situation to stop you in enjoying your life.

Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.
