Are you prepared?

There’s a lot of articles saying that even after this lackdown, things will never be the same anymore. Things cannot be the same as how it was before this pandemic. And that is true. After our almost 2 months of bible study, for sure our life and vision is not the same anymore. Why? Because after all these days of online bible study, God already touched our hearts. He already renewed our mind and heart. He renewed our vision as followers of Christ.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:2

It only explains than we should not live like the people in this world. But surrender ourselves and God will renew our mind. So we will know his kagustuhan in our lives.

In this more than 67 days of lockdown, many of us are thinking it is just about lockdown and being safe. But it is not. God´s plan is bigger than that. What God wants us to know or to learn is bigger than that. It is more about letting God to renew our mind and renew our hearts. He is preparing us for something bigger. Bigger blessings, bigger opportunities, bigger plans. And that is what we should see and what we should stand.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremaiah 29:11-13

But the question is, “are we letting God work on us?”, to you and to me? Because the answer should be yes. And we should let God work in ourlives and in ourselves.

Now, let´s talk about vision. Awhile ago we already talked the importance of vision in Romans 12:2, so that we will know God´s will in ourselves. His will, and not our will.

But what is vision ?

In google, I saw this 2 definition that is related to what I am trying to say or explain to you
:the faculty or a state of being able to see
:a person or sight of unusual beauty

But we can also define it as: It is when ww look into something; a thing, a work, a situation, but what we see is God. We see what God wants to happen in those particular matter. So I hope, many of us or if it is possible all of us, stand on that vision -- God´s vision. Let’s us stand so the vision and mision of the Lord will come to pass or will manifest.

After lockdown, we can say that we will be able to live freely; We will be able to do what ever we want, and go wherever we want in any time we want. We are free from doing our daily routines. But as I said before, God already changed our vision. And let’s stand on that.

So now I will give you some of the things that we are going to do with our new and bigger vision into them.

1. To Buy

During the lockdown, we usually go out once or twice a week. Maybe in a whole family, there is only one person who’s going out to buy the grocery for the whole week. It took a lot of sacrifices. Having faith and having a lot of precautions so the virus will not come to us nor enter our homes.
But are we prepared? To finally go out everyday, to buy our needs anytime we want, anytime we can. But it is not just buying or spending money, it is also time in harvesting.
The plant that God planted in us, the plant that God guarded for 2-4 months. Be prepared for it is time to harvest.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Galacians 6:9

Given the fact that it’s more than 2 months but provision is overflowing. How much more after this lockdown? So be prepared because if you’re not prepared and you dont have that vision, you will miss a lot of blessings and opportunities. Be prepared and bring all your sacks because I declare in Jesus name, and we claim that we will harvest the fruits that He planted in us.

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19

2. To Work

Maybe a lot of us lost our jobs. But do not be dismayed because God will never leave you nor forsake you. He has plans for you , and it is important to desire to know His plans. He is the God that provide.

But let’s talk about our fellow christians. Most of us are from service industry where we are the one who serve. How are we in our works? Respectful, Obedient, hard working, ...

And as Christians , we also have our works with God. Each one of us have duties to comply. So be prepared: the characters that we have on our jobs, we should also be like that in serving God. And if you think that you are prepared in serving God, ask yourselves (let’s go back to our characters as employee).

But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.
1 Samuel 12:24

Am I respectful to God? Do I respect my boss, who is my God? Maybe a lot of us will say, yes I respect God. Obviously, because He is God. And I know. But let´s check ourselves again. How can you show that you trully respect God? The same way with our employer, when they command us to do something, the way we answer them can show our respect.

And same way with God. The way we answer God everytime He command us to do something, shows our respect to Him.

So if you respect God, you will watch your mouth. You will watch the words that will come out of your mouth. If you respect God, you will check and correct your attitude when you respond to Him. Always have the right attitude.

Am I obedient to God?When we say obedient we follow His commands no matter how difficult it is. But what are His commands? First are the laws of God. Second is His command for you to follow, which we can say His calling in your life as servant of God.

Am I hard working to God? In work when our employer said that we need to do this, even when we are busy with other thing we answer, “ok, i’ll do it after this”. And when we don’t know how to do it we say, “can you teach how to do it so I’ll do it alone after”. It work, we always say yes. So just remember this, when we say yes to others, make sure we are not saying NO to God.

Let’s work respectfuly, obiediently and hard working in every job or works that God is giving to us. When you feel like “leaders” are giving you too much loads. Think that God is the one commanding you to do those. Put in mind and put it in your vision that God is just preparing you to something bigger. That God will give you promotions as well. So be prepared.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,  since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Colossians 3:23-24

3. Family Bonding

During this lockdown, we learned that God and our Family is the most important in life. It is not our job nor our friends who we are with. Im not saying those are not important, but what I am saying is at the end, God and our Family are those who we lean on.

During our online bible study, there are a lot of time when we talked about our families, as parent and as children. It is not about to argue but to be open about little issues that we need to settle.

If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?
1 Timothy 3:5

Did we finally learned the importance of a family? The importance of strong and God centered family? Being obedient as children and being understanding as a parent?

After this lockdown, be prepared to practice all those knowledge that we learned. Let´s have more time with our family.

4. Friends

Some of us are excited to be with their friends again, spend time together just like before. But this time, let´s practice to be more righteous and influenced those people who haven´t had a relationship with the Lord.

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God,[a] which he bought with his own blood.
Acts 20:28

The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
Proverbs 12:26

Dont be the cause that your friends are commiting sin. You know what is right in the Lord, and live into it.

Maybe some of us are different when we are in the church, and when we are with our friends. But let´s be real. We cannot serve two masters, we cannot have two faces. As I mentioned in our introduction, we cannot live the way we lived before. And that is true as well on being a christian. We cannot live a sinful life anymore. Live a righteous life.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
Romans 1:16

It is the perfect time to be the salt and light in this world. Be the instrument so that more people will know God and experience the grace that you are experiencing right now.

5. Take a stroll

Who’s not excited to finally go out and spend time with our loved ones, family, friends. Go to our favorite places or experience new attractions.

But, aside from visiting your favorite go to places. Be glad to finally be able to see the nature, the God’s creation.

The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
Genesis 2:15

Let’s support God’s creation by visiting His creations. Be thankful and do our part as children of God. For it is our role to preserve the environment.

Let’s have a bigger vision and be thoughtful about our future. So start recycling, try not to use public transport if you can just walk going to one place to another.

Those small acts are the start of better future maybe not for us but for young ones. Let’s experience the nature, be thankful and see God’s goodness through those. They are made for you to experience and see the goodness of the Lord.

6. To Travel

How many of us missed the opportunity to travel? Or how many of us prepared new plans and itinerary? Because who does not want to travel? Right?

But aside from traveling and experience new places, why dont we do it together with our co-mission with the Lord?

I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish.
Romans 1:14

Why dont we try to experience going in a mission? Specially if you are fan of travelling. It is a benefit of going to new places, meeting new people, experiencing the culture and most specially being part of our co mission with the Lord. Being an effective servant of God.

When we say effective, it is doing your part at its maximum. So be an effective servant.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:14

7. Freedom
Finally we’ll be able to go out anytime and anywhere we are. Isn’t it exciting? And thankful at the same time for God protected us during this pandemic.

Before quarantine or even during quarantine we had a lot of struggles. We felt like we are chained from those unpleasant things.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1

See, God already set us free through Jesus, all we have to do is stand on our faith. We dont need to be put in the cross like Jesus, Jesus Christ already did that for us. Be glad and rejoice for the grace of the Lord in our life.

And during this quarantine, we had a lot of realization. And during our daily online bible study, we learned and reflected a lot.

If you felt like you are chained in sin, that only you can check in yourself. Ask yourself and be real. If the answer is yes, then go to God. Surrender it fully to Him. Ask Him to give you freedom from that sin or anything that bathers you.

After this lockdown, be free. Experience the freedom that God is giving you for the nth time. If you kept on locking yourself to that sin, no one can help you. So open your heart to God. Have that courage and desire to be free again.

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Galatians 5:13

8. Going back to church

Who’s excited in going back to church? To finally be able to fellowship face to face. To finally sing praises and worships to God with out brethren. And to finally meet and see our Pastors? Arent those exciting?

But, aside from that. We should have a bigger vision. Our church has its mission, which is stated in the name of our church. The Great Comission Ministry.
It has been 2 weeks or two Sunday that Pastora Joy is emphasizing the mission of the church.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20

So now, let’s not just be excited in small things. But be more excited in bigger things such as bigger vision and bigger mission.

As part of TGCM, have you ever had a bigger dream or goals for our church or family? For God said to abraham he’ll be a father of many nation .  So be prepared, because TGCM Barcelona will be the infrastructural church of many people.

It is not about desiring to have a bigger church, but it is more about desiring for more people to know God through us. So for it to happen, let’s be Abraham.

Let God use us. And during our insecurities, when we feel like we lack into something, be open to God. Tell Him all our imperfections and insecurities, because He will surely provide and give you all the needs and materials. But you need to give Him the willingness to follow and to commit.

Joseph the dreamer

It is one of my favorite story in the bible.

He had to experience a lot of struggle in his life. But he is always thankful for he knows God has bigger plans for him. And through those struggles, he always let God to use him. He is always offering himself as instrument for God. And when he was in prison, God is preparing him. He experienced to apply the gift that God gave him. He even let God to mold him. And that is how he was able to save many lives when 7 years of kagutuman/kahirapan happened.

In this lockdown,  the most special purpose of God in this season is to mold you. So after this quarantine, you will be able to be an effective servant which will lead in saving more souls. Isn’t that great? To be an instrument of God in this world?

If you think you are not prepared yet. Something is lacking in you. Put yourself together. Be prepared for bigger blessings are coming. And for bigger blessings, you need to set bigger vision into it.

Revelation of Genesis 3: The Fall

A few days ago, I decided to exhort about the story of Adam and Eve. And I personally chose this part, The Fall. Where they ate the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden. I shared this to my fellow youth and finally decided to share it with you here on my blog.

I know, when you read Genesis 3 or any other stories in the bible, you can get other messages and new ideas. But the messages and ideas that will be shared later are the ideas that I got and God revealed to me while reading and studying Genesis 3.

Please take time on getting your bible and read the whole Genesis 3:1-24 or open your bible app.

Revelation of Genesis 3: The Fall

1. The Question

Gen 3:1-2

The snake asked Eve regarding what God said about not eating the fruit of the tree. Just like to us, it is important how we respond: to questions,  to just a normal conversation, and to God.

In just a simple questions specially of unbelievers, the way we answer it shows our faith. And we all know as Christians, follower of Christ, we should always stand on our faith on our daily basis. And not just when we are inside the church or when we are with our brethren.

One of the example I can give you is when someone said, ¨Let´s do cutting class¨. By that simple phrase, you have the opportunity to show your faith and they can see it through your response. And even in our normal conversations. That´s why it is important that we should learn to be aware of the words that will come out of our mouth.
¨The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.¨
Proverbs 18:21

We see in this verse that the snake is confusing Eve by asking questions. The same thing that Jesus experienced in Matthew 4:1-11.

The lesson here is we need to be aware on how we are going to answer these simple questions and phrases. We need to show God´s grace in our life by answering and applying His words and not conforming the lifestyle of this world. Because if we conform in the works in this world, we will get used to it. So let´s answer based on God´s words and make that as a lifestyle.

¨If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.¨
James 1:5

2. Our Respond Based on our Actions

Gen 3:6

Based on number 1 example, we can say to that person that we will not do cutting class. But our action after that answer is much more important. Because sometimes, our answer is right but our action is wrong. If we say no, but we let other persons to influence us and we commit a sin. That is our sin and we cannot finger point other person.

Same thing in Christian life. We keep on saying on our prayers, ¨Lord, let your will be done¨, ¨Lord, help me to live a Christ-Like life¨ but after that prayer, we still do our things depending on ourselves. We are still dependant of ourselves. Which is contrary of the words that came out of our mouth.

Yes, we are just human. We are a work in process. It is normal to commit a sin. We all know that God loves us and He is ALWAYS willing to forgive us. But sometimes, those words become our own excuses. Isn´t it?

James 2:14-26

Because a true follower of Christ will stand on his faith 101%. Let´s fully surrender ourselves to God and let Him to renew ourselves. Commit to our relationship to God and live a Christ-Like life.

¨Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!¨
2 Corinthians 5:17

¨Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.¨
2 Corintians 7:1

3. Pointing fingers

Gen 3:12

In this scenario, Adan could have apologized to God directly without pointing fingers to others.

The fruit of the tree will give them knowledge and will let them know what is right and what is wrong. It is so related to our life as a Christian. Most of us already finished the bible. Most of us learned most of the things inside the bible through bible study and preaching. But what is the problem? We know the basics but we forget the apply in our lives the true message and the morals of the bible.

You know what is more important than knowledge? Attitude, right attitude. Because Adan already has the knowledge but he lacks right attitude, definitely. Because if he has the right attitude, he will directly humble himself and apologize to God. And so is us. Let´s have the right attitude and humble ourselves to God. Know that God is a sovereign God and a loving God.

So now,  let´s check ourselves by answering this questions:

Do I have the right attitude?
The right attitude as a Christian?
The right attitude in living my life and in influencing others?

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Trust in The Lord with All Your Heart

During this pandemic, people are worried and unsure of their own lives. Many people lost their lives, lost their family member, lost their job. There is a chaos. We cannot do something physically. But all that we can do is to trust God with all our hearts.

I am currently living in Barcelona Spain. I work as Reception Manager in a Hotel. Spain is still in Lockdown because of Covid-19 pandemic.

Last April 18,2020, my boss told me that he wanted to talk to me so I should call him before I leave. So then, I was thinking what should it be about? But I have a lot of thoughts in my mind by that time.

So when we talked, he told me that he is planning to close the hotel untill the end of 2020. He is not planning to take a risk specially for his workers and because he is old as well. It is hard for him to get any virus and get sick. So he told me that he had to finish my contract and I can only work until the end of the month.

After that, I just cleaned my things and prepare to leave the work. I was not nervous or something. I was relaxed and told to myself, ¨it is ok, for sure God has bigger plans for me. I know He will provide all my needs. I know He is a sovereign God¨.

Then I finished work and get my bag and jacket. That was less than 3 minutes when he left then my boss went back and told me to forget what we talked about. Because there was a news that it is not possible to finish anyone´s contract during this pandemic until 6 months.

By that moment, I realized and God told me. When we say ¨we don´t worry and we trust God¨, speaking about it is not enough. We should say it, think about it and feel it. Because sometimes we say that we won´t worry but we think a lot on what we can do. Because of that ¨unsureness¨ that we have inside, it burden God´s work in us.

So next time, when we say we trust God, we should trust Him wholeheartedly. Trust Him with our mind and emotions as well.

Thanks be to God because He is a faithful God. He knows all His promises to us and He is always there for us.

More testimonies here.

Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
