Where to Stay in Boracay

Boracay is well known around the world for being a paradise. But because of Philippine Government´s move on preserving the beauty of Boracay, they only allow 6,000 tourists to arrive in Boracay per day. Aside from that, before entering the Island of Boracay, tourists should have their confirmed hotel reservation with them.

The local government of Boracay with the Department of Tourism of the Philippines made a quality check for all the accommodations in Boracay. So if you accidentally booked to a non accredited hotel in Boracay, here are what you should do.

Boracay Island is divided into three station. From entering the island, it starts with Station One, Station Two and lastly, Station Three. Station Three, where you can find all the main water activities. In Station Two is where you can find everything, most of the restaurants, small shops, few activities. It is also the most crowded area. Station One is the most peaceful part and most of the accommodations here are a little bit expensive.

Isla Gecko Resort

We booked in Isla Gecko Resort the same day as we arrived in Boracay. It was hard to find an accommodation based on your preferences but luckily, Isla Gecko Resort has one room left.

Isla Gecko Resort is located in Station Two. We were lucky because we found a hotel in the middle of Boracay. It is at the back of D´Mall and walking distance from the shore. It is the best location specially if you are travelling with you friends and family because they are nearto everything. It is easy to access to any shops or restaurants in the area.

2756.00 php / night

We booked a room that is good for 3 persons because I was with my fiancé and his sister. It is not cheap but I can say that the price is good for the quality of the room and its location. We booked on the spot so it was harder for us.

Our room is quiet big for us. It has a big queen bed and an individual bed. The room is spacious with aircondition, flat screen tv, wifi, closet and minibar. Because of its size, it was not hard to move around even we were three persons.

Their toilet was quiet small. They only offer a shower and the part of the toilet was easy to get wet. It would be nice if they make the toilet a little bit bigger and if they have bathtub.

They offer towers for all the guests and tissue paper. But the rest such as shampoo, conditioner and soap, you need to buy it.

Isla Gecko Resort has terrace, bar and they offer breakfast. The reception is open 24 hours and they were all kind and ready to answer all the inqueries.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Where To Stay In Tagaytay

Tagaytay is known for its cold weather and it is few hours away from Metro Manila that gives people from the city to come. It is the best place for a whole family or group of friends because of different parks that it offers. Visitors have choices to come in the morning and go back at the afternoon. But for those who are planing to stay over night, here I recommend you the best place for your accomodation.

RedDoorz Plus @ The Ridge Tagaytay City

RedDoorz Plus @ The Ridge is located near Picnic Grove and People´s Park in The Sky. So it is really convinient for those people who are planing to visit those places. There are plenty of restaurants in the area as well.

But aside from the places to visit in Tagaytay, it is also a good choice if you are planning to go in Enchanted Kingdom and Magical Field Of Light in Nuvali

The price depends on when you are planning to stay in this hotel. But when we booked it on December 27, 2018, we paid 2028,91 php for 1 night.

For 10% discount in Booking.Com you can use my link here.

In RedDoorz Plus @ The Ridge Tagaytay City, pets are allowed which is hard to find in other hotels. They have 24hours reception and a good wifi. They also provide their own parking. You can order foods as well.

By booking a room, I always make use that it is big enough for all of us. But with this hotel, it did not dissapoint me. It bigger than I expected and I can say that it is the biggest room I booked and its price is quiet cheap.

We booked a doble room but I can say that its bed is bigger than what it is. It seems like a queen bed! What a nice gift right?

By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

Best Place to Stay in Luxembourg - Le Chatelet

One of the smallest country in Europe is Luxembourg. It is one of the bucket list and most recommendable if you are staying or traveling around Germany, Belgium and France. There are direct trains or buses from those countries that makes it easier to access and come to Luxembourg.

Every time we travel, one of the things we look for is our accommodation. I made a blog regarding things to look for while searching for a great accommodation that will surely help you 100%. You can look into that blog so next time you are going to travel, you will surely be able to get the best accommodation that is suited on your taste!

We stayed in Luxembourg for 3 days and 2 nights, good enough to be able to visit the best places in town. As what I´ve said on the first part of this blog, Luxembourg is just a small country that is suited if you are planning for a short vacation. Finally, I booked our accommodation in Le Chatelet, a 3 stars hotel.

What I noticed before booking our accommodation?
  • Flights are cheap but accommodations in Luxembourg is a bit expensive.
  • You can find a simple apartment in the center or old part of the city that will cost you 70€ and a 3 star hotel that will cost 75€ per night
  • The prices of accommodations are depend on its area. Luxembourg is a small country, if you are willing to spend 30 to 40 minutes in the bus to get in the center of the city, you can find an accommodation for around 50€ per night
  • You should consider a lot of things before concluding where to stay
Le Chatelet review

  • Its location is in Bd de La Petrusse 2, Gare, 2320 Luxembourg, exactly 1.1km from the center.
  • From the airport, you can ride a 20 minutes bus going there and walk less than 5 minutes.
  • It is accessible to a lot of bus stop and Luxembourg Railway Station
  • It is 20 minutes walking from the center
  • We were 4 persons and we spent 320€ for our 2 nights stay in Le Chatelet
  • We booked a standard quadruple room
  •  So each of us paid 20€ per night
  • The price is worthy because of the location and quality of entire hotel
  • The price depends on type of room that you are going to book

  • We stayed in a standard quadruple room
  • It is on the 3rd floor of the hotel
  • You need to take a short spiral staircase before you arrive in the room. It is OK for us because we are all young but not for people aged 50 years old and up
  • The room is literally big. I really expected it to be smaller but we had a big space
  • We had 4 single beds but I can say that two of them are double beds. Beds are best quality
  • Everything is clean, even the toilet
  • The only bad thing is the heater that you can hear the water from it and it keeps turning on and off so we felt cold on our first night. The next day they gave us a portable heater that really helped.

  • When we booked our room, the breakfast was not included but we tried it on our first morning
  • Their breakfast costs 12.50€ per person
  • They have a lot of variety of foods that we are all going to like
  • They have breakfast area, restaurant, fitness center, bar, parking and free wifi
  • We are all going to check first the wifi and good to say that even if we stayed on the highest part, the internet connection is still good
  • You can check here the other facilities and incluions that they have

Queen City of the South | Cebu, Philippines

With the Philippines´ 7,641 islands, Cebu is one of  the most famous. So here I share to you the cheapest way to spend your vacation in the Queen City of the South, Cebu!

 Book your flight
Skyscanner is a website (they also have their app) where you can see prices of flight anywhere and anytime. Here is how you can use this website to get the cheapest flights.

Then after deciding the appropriate and cheapest flight for you, go to Traveloka website to get discounts! You can get more discounts by downloading their app and don´t forget to sign up because first time users get their exclusive discounts. Take note that it is only available to some countries.

My rountrip ticket MNL-CEB & CEB-MNL is only 2,100php! You just need to be patient to look for the price from time to time and follow the process. You don´t need promos anymore.

As we arrived in Mactan-Cebu International Airport, we booked in Mactan Cebu Airport Budget Hotel through just for 1 night. The room is good for 6 persons and you have to share the bathroom but that won't be a problem because they have a lot of showers that gives you privacy.
Cebu City 1 Day Itinerary
We just planned a 1 day tour around the city of Cebu. It´s just a small city and traveling in Cebu, you should focus on their beaches. You can also research about places to visit in the area and just choose some based on your preference.  Here is our itinerary for 1 day tour in Cebu City :

You can also book your tour
Magellan´s Cross

Sirao Garden

Temple of Leah

It has 20 pesos entrance fee. It is a temple for Ellen Adarna´s grandmother.

10, 000 Roses Cafe
For your night tour, I recommend you the 10,000 roses café. It´s a new tourist spot in Cebu city and you can see more of its beauty during night. But better to be there before 6pm because of number of people going there.

Cebu City to South Cebu

The next morning, we went to Cebu South Bus Terminal to take a bus going to Oslob. It cost us 160 php per person. It´s almost a 5 hours ride.We were a little bit late so as we arrive in Oslob, we just went to the nearest beach and took a rest.

South Cebu Journey

We stayed in Casa Solmar in Oslob. I highly recommend you this place! They are too nice to accommodate us and even booked a motorcycle drivers to take us for whaleshark watching. The trip cost us 300 php per head and the drivers already got numbers for us so we didnt have to fall in line for so long. They will help you with everything and they will even suggest you things so you can save money and enjoy at the same time.

Whale Shark Watching
500 php / pax
You need to get a number before you see the whale sharks. So better ask someone to get number for you, ask the natives. There is also a 10 minutes briefing about do´s and don´ts. Then they will give you your gear but I recommend you to bring your own gear. Book here.

Going to other places in South Cebu will cost you thousands of peso per person and per destination. Out hotel stuff helped us to find a place where we can rent motorcycles. It´s just 600 pesos  / motorcycle for 24 hours. So don´t forget to bring a friend who can drive for you. Here are some places to visit in South Cebu:

Kawasan Falls
Kawasan falls is way too far from Oslob. It can take you more than an hour to get there. There is an app called Maze than can lead you going there. But be careful because it can also give you a wrong way.

It is 10 minutes walk from the entrance to get in Kawasaki falls. You can rent life vest for only 20 php. There are small stores in the area for your miryenda.
Book your tour here.

Sumilon Island

Sumilon Island is way too near from Oslob. It is only open for public until 5 pm. There is a boat that you can rent and it cost us 1,200 php. It´s a little bit expensive because we were just 5 persons in one big boat. I recommend you to get there early in the morning so you can share the fare with other travellers. It is only a 15 minutes ride and you can see a paradise. It has a white sand and clear water.

Osmeña´s Peak

It´s the highest peak in Cebu but unfortunately we could´t drive anymore to get there because it was raining. People from there said that it usually rains during morning so try to go there in the afternoon.

Just Passing By

By passing in the South Cebu, you will see places worth taking pictures

Don´t forget to bring delicacies of Cebu in your own town. Before going to the airport, pass by  in Taboan Supermarket for cheapest and affordable pasalubong such as dried mangoes, danggit, otap, and etc.. You can buy kilos of your dried fish for cheap price.

But always go advance to the airport because you might experience unexpected traffic in the city. And always expect delayed flights!

Total amount of money I spent in Cebu is only 7,000 php including everything.
